Careers Industry Tours Inspire Students
Interested senior students have attended a range of Industry Tours around the region this term.
Nayland College students have been on various tours and trips to see local industry first hand. Trips included:
Aquaculture (a boat trip to see working aquaculture farming)
Hospitality (hands-on in the kitchen and bar)
Joinery (visiting pre-frame, joinery and engineering workshops)
Horticulture (on site in orchard and pack house)
Conservation (course options and a trip to a local reserve)
Construction and Engineering (worksites and water treatment plants)
IT and Computing (local industry with large computing/IT department)
Thanks to Nelson Regional Development Agency and NMIT for arranging the trips and to local businesses for hosting our students and inspiring them with their personal pathways, hands on activities and showcasing career possibilities.
