Environmental themes influence young print makers

Duncan McKinlay —

Year 10 Art students have been experimenting with printmaking techniques using recycled materials.

In a previous newsletter, we profiled print artist Ina Arraoui who is our 'artist in residence' at the moment. Along with art teacher Tania Radman, Ina has been mentoring a Year 10 Art class to create prints that draw upon the theme of thinking about our impact on the environment.

This environmental theme was also reflected in the materials used as well. To create the prints, students made etchings in recycled tetra pack plates, given to the school by Sublime Coffee Roasters.
