Hands on science

Andrew Nyhoff —

Doing an actual dissection in Science is both engaging and challenging. There is no substitute for experiencing it, however it is not exactly a pleasant experience!

Our Year 9 scientists push through their discomfort to appreciate the incredible complexity of an actual specimen, in this case a rat. After completing our unit on Nutrition and Digestion, we reinforce our learning on how each component connects together by tracing the path from the teeth right through to the colon.

If you happen to be out hunting or fishing with your student, please invite them to show their surgical and science skills to you!
