E whakahī ana mātou i a mātou nei ākonga!

Nayland College —

We are proud of our students! On Friday 24 May a small group of students went with Matua Ihaka to the Ngā Manukōrero Māori Speech competitions in Picton, hosted by Queen Charlotte College.

Tiaki Sharp, year 10, spoke as a representative in the Junior English Section. Tiaki won his section and we are all extremely proud of him and all of the hard work he has put in. Tiaki is a very busy young man, he was involved in school production, Oliver! and he was a participant in the Shakespeare competition that took place recently, and he is also a member of the boy's choir at Nayland College.

The National Ngā Manukōrero Māori Speech Competition will be held in Palmerston North this year at the Regent in September.

All the very best Tiaki!
