2023 Start of Year Information

Please find attached our updated 2023 calendar, along with starting times and information for January. Note that the Ministry of Education has scheduled two further NCEA Review Staff Only Days for 2023, one of which is set for Wednesday 26 April, the other is yet to be confirmed.

SENIOR STUDENT COURSE CHANGES (YEARS 11, 12 & 13)

All senior students will receive a letter in January detailing their subject selections for 2023. Year 11/12 students with clashes or other compelling reasons for change can book an appointment with their House Leader. Year 13 students should make an appointment to see the Careers Advisors. 

Times available: 

  • 10:00am – 6:00pm on Tuesday 24 January
  • 9:00am – 3:00pm Wednesday 25 January

STARTING TIMES

Tuesday 31 January

  • 9:00am: Y9 students, new Y10-13 students and Y13 Peer Mentors mihi whakatau in hall
  • 1:00pm: New Y10-13 students dismissed
  • 2:45pm: Y9 students & Peer Mentors dismissed

Wednesday 1 February

School day starts at staggered times as noted below:

  • 8:50am: Y9 to tutor class, Y10 to hall
  • 9:30am: Y11 to hall
  • 10:15am: Y12/13 to hall
  • 3:15pm: School day finishes

Year 11, 12 & 13 students with incomplete timetables or clashes must see their house leader before going home

Thursday 2 February

  • 8:50 – 3:15pm: Normal school day

School office opens Monday 16 January 2022.

  • Wednesday 8 February, 5:30-7:00pm: Outdoor Education Parent Evening
  • Thursday 9 February, 5:00-6:00pm: Meet the HOLA Music Evening
  • Friday 10 February: School photos for all Y9, Y11 and new students
