School Uniform Reminder

Nayland College —

Please ensure students wear the correct uniform, whatever the weather.

Dear parents/caregivers

First of all, thank you to all our students who arrive at school each day in the correct uniform, ready for their learning. If you are unsure of our uniform guidelines, please see the attached document.

Nayland College has a huge array of uniform items and has a very flexible uniform policy. Our goal is to work with families to assist students to not only have correct uniform, but also to arrive at school on time and have the correct gear for learning. This is not a punitive process, but rather an educational one. We believe that our approach assists students to be more self-managing and better prepared for the workplace.

Now that the weather is colder, it's important that students wear our warm school uniform options. Non-uniform hoodies are not acceptable. Please purchase a school hoodie or jumper, or wear a long sleeved black thermal / merino top under your shirt. A plain black jacket such as a puffer jacket or black school jacket that can be purchased from the uniform shop, are also the only acceptable outerwear. Students may also only wear a plain black beanie, plain black cap with no logos, or school hat or cap (outside only).

We totally understand if students do not have correct uniform items from time to time. Kaiarataki (Deans) or the Senior Leadership Team will issue uniform passes in these instances (please provide a note). In many instances we can also loan or purchase items for students to assist.

As already mentioned, for clarification around our uniform expectations, please see the attached document.
