Make a positive difference!

Nayland Environment & Sustainability Team —

Have you recently bought the latest phone only for your old one to collect dust in the cupboard?

Electrical waste (e-waste) is the fastest growing type of waste in the world. In New Zealand we throw out around 80,000 tonnes per year! This is one small way to make a positive difference.

NEST (Nayland Environment and Sustainability Team) asks you, as a member of our school community, to bring in your old cellphones and drop them off at the Library or Business Centre.

NEST will be collecting old cellphones through Term 3 and dropping them off at the Nelson Environment Centre so that they can be recycled appropriately. For more information regarding this process please go to https://www.nec.org.nz/e-waste

Disclaimer
We ask students to discuss carefully with caregivers at home about what cellphones are no longer being used and therefore ready to be recycled responsibly.
