VAST Dance Festival celebrates 10 years!
Last Friday, 21 students from Level 2 & 3 Dance, as well as members of Dance Company gathered at the Theatre Royal for a full day of Dance.
VAST Dance Festival is a non-competitive showcase of schools from the Top of the South, allowing students invaluable experiences of performing in a professional setting to a sold-out crowd.
This year's show featured Nayland College alongside Motueka High School, Waimea College, Garin College, Marlborough Boy's College and Marlborough Girls' College. Genres ranged from old-school Hip-Hop, to Contemporary, Samoan Sasa and Siva, Fosse Jazz and Musical Theatre. Students took part in workshops throughout the day which included Pacific Fusion, Commercial Dance and Contemporary with one of these tutors traveling down from Auckland as a 3rd year Unitec student. It was an incredibly successful day with some stunning evening performances.
Miss Polglase would like to thank the dance students for their incredible attitude and performances on the day, as well as Ed Roddick and Hailey Potts for their work as comperes of the show, and Kimberly Fitzgerald for photography. We are looking forward to VAST 2023!
