Performance Arts Centre gets a new custom dance floor

Ross Gerritsen —

Following years of ripped socks, scuppered pirouettes and splinters the Performing Arts Centre (PAC) has been given a much-needed upgrade with the installation of a custom dance floor which has breathed new life into this multi-use facility. Drama, Dance and Music students all stand to gain significantly from the new surface.

Following the sanding of the original painted ply a liquid concrete was applied to any remaining pits to allow for a perfectly smooth application of the vinyl. The vinyl which is a double layer designed specifically for Performance studios has a flexible fibreglass core providing a surface that is perfectly responsive, especially for dancers. This wonderful addition is designed to cope with the rigors of Nayland’s busy curricular and co-curricular Performing Arts programmes.

We hope to see you at one of our many upcoming Performing Arts events to see the floor in action for yourself.
