Institute of Sport Adventure Race

Jane Townsend - Deputy Principal —

On Monday 17 September the IoS students competed in a class Adventure Race in teams of three or four. The weather was abysmal with high winds and torrential downpours, but the weather conditions did not dampen the spirits of the IoS Adventure Racing teams.

The course consisted of a Waka ama leg which required the students to gain checkpoints in and around the marina and Boulder Bank. They then headed off on their mountain bikes where they completed a loop of Codgers mountain bike park and Tantragee. Most teams stopped to pick up the checkpoints but a few of the teams were distracted by the single track, the down hills, and trying to get to the finish as fast as possible.

Congratulations to our Institute of Sport students on their positive attitude, team spirit and their strength and endurance over the three-and-a-half-hour event.
