Moira Raumati —

Thank you to our many local employers for supporting our Gateway Programme in 2022. Your support is vital to allow our students to experience the world of work and help cement their future pathway.

The Gateway Programme gives Year 11 - 13 students the opportunity to experience work in an industry of their choice. It also allows students to gain credits towards a qualification within that particular industry. The benefit to employers is knowing they are helping the local community by supporting our tamariki to gain valuable work experience, along with having the potential to view a possible future employee. This year several of our students were offered an apprenticeship within the building and joinery industry, along with the electrical and primary sector. Several other students have gained either full, or part-time employment, or entered into continued industry training. We would like to thank the following companies for their generous support throughout the year:

The Sellers Room, ITM Joinery, Steve Rolston Ltd, Fitzgerald Construction Ltd, Laser Electrical Nelson, Nelmac, Al Fresco Gardening & Property Maintenance, All Stainless, Anglesay Farm, Birchwood Primary School, Brick Eatery, Bright Sparks Electrical Solutions, Cawthron Aquaculture Park, Chics n Chaps Ltd, Chillies Hair Studio, City Fitness, Cooper Webley Ltd, Countdown Stoke and Nelson, Presbyterian Support, Farmers Nelson, Fossil Creek Farm Ltd, Freshchoice Richmond, Hertz Electrical Ltd, Heslops, Kernohan Engineering, Knapps Lawyers, Laser Plumbing Nelson, Nayland Kindergarten, Nayland Primary School, Nelson City Council, Pages Automotive, Paula's Preschool, Rob's Garage, Rutherford Hotel Nelson, SK Plumbing Ltd, Smart Business Centre Nelson, Star Early Learning, Stoke Kindergarten, Tech Electric, The Ark Preschool, The Coffee Factory, The Garden Window, The Honest Lawyer Country Pub, The Warehouse Richmond, Tyre General, You Build Ltd
