Police dog catches volunteer 'criminal'

Esther Hancock —

To end the term, the Year 10 Animal Behaviour & Welfare class received a visit from a local police dog handler. Mr Lewers was kind enough to step in and assist the demonstration.

Today police dog handlers Sergeant Craig Moore and Marcus Saunders attended the school to demonstrate how these dogs are trained and operate. Teacher Mark Lewers was nearby and able to act as the criminal.

The Year 10 Animal Behaviour and Welfare students were very engaged in the visit and one remarked “Miss, this is the best day of my life.”

What a great way to end the term!
