Athletics Updates

Nayland College —

Our school Athletics Day was held last Thursday at Saxton Field with Micayla Whiti and Ellie Beever both breaking long-standing school records. Students then had a tight turnaround to prepare for the TSS Athletics Day on Monday this week.

Nayland College Athletics Day

  • Micayla Whiti (Y13) broke the Senior Girls 100m and 200m records. 
  • Ellie Beever (Y12) broke the U16 Girls High Jump school record. 

Tasman Secondary School Athletics Champs

Here are the results from the Tasman Secondary School Athletics Champs. Nayland had 40 students competing across all events.

  • Emma Robinson U14 Girls - 3rd 100m/2nd 200m/2nd 400m
  • Nia Linyard U14 Girls - 3rd 3000m/2nd 1500m
  • Theo Kaa U14 Boys - 2nd High Jump
  • Micah Dunn U15 Boys - 2nd 3000m
  • Takoda Cross U15 Girls - 2nd 400m
  • Keshia Linyard U16 Girls - 2nd 1500/1st 3000m
  • Daniel Lane U16 Boys - 1st 400m
  • Reuben Johnston U16 Boys - 2nd Shot Put
  • Ellie Beever U16 Girls - 2nd Javelin/1st High Jump/1st Long Jump/2nd 800m
  • Lynkin Tamatea U19 Boys - 3rd Shot Put/2nd Javelin/1st Discus/1st High Jump
  • Micayla Whiti U19 Girls - 1st 100m/1st 200m
