South Island Champions!

Nayland College —

Micayla Whiti is the South Island U19 200m champion and Josephine Tappenden is the South Island U16 400m champion! Congratulations girls and all the best as you prepare for the Australian National Age Group Champs over the holidays!

Josephine Tappenden, Micayla Whiti and Alisa Fahrbach were at the South Island Secondary School Athletic Championships last weekend. Josephine and Alisa competed in the Girls U16 age group and Micayla in the U19.

For Josephine and Micayla this weekend was preparation for them both ahead of the Australian National Age Group Champs in a couple of weeks time which they have both qualified for this season!

 Amazing results from our girls:

Micayla - South Island 200m champ, placed 2nd in 100m

Josephine - South Island 400m champ, placed 4th in 200m

Alisa - did very well, 5th in the 800m and 6th in the 1500m

Tough, cold and wet conditions for racing last weekend. A little opposite to the conditions expected in Brisbane (hot and humid) for Micayla and Josephine in two weeks time. Good luck girls!
