Principal's Message 28 October 2022

Daniel Wilson —

It has been such a pleasure to see so much student success celebrated over the past week!

Kia ora koutou,

Firstly, thank you for your support this afternoon as we managed a sewerage leak on the school site. This was a significant event that meant we had no choice but to close our toilets and ask students to leave the school site. Our grounds staff were amazing and contractors were on site quickly, however there was a major overflow of raw sewerage near the superloo facility that was being exacerbated every time a toilet was flushed. A clean up operation is underway and we expect to be back to normal on Monday.

It has been a wonderful week celebrating a wide range of team, group and individual achievements across both our Sports Prizegiving on Tuesday and our Arts & Cultural Awards evening last night. First of all, a huge congratulations to all our prizewinners and thank you to all our staff, tutors, managers, coaches, caregivers and supporters who have contributed so much towards their success throughout the year. I cannot remember a year where there has been such a amazing array of student success across the board.

Next week we are looking forward to celebrating academic achievements and those who have voluntarily served the school in a variety of ways through our Academic & Service Awards ceremony on Tuesday and our Senior Prizegiving on Friday. Our Senior Prizegiving can be watched online via our Facebook page.

To all our seniors who will be leaving us at the end of next week to head into study leave for your exams, we wish you all the best for those exams and for your future career paths. Stay in touch and join our alumni database as we would love to hear about your ongoing successes and achievements!

Ngā mihi
