Safety Notice - school driveways

Nayland College Adminstration —

The start and end of every school day has become hair-raising to witness. At exactly the time we need our school driveways to be safe, they are at their most hazardous as students, parents, bikes, cars and buses converge in the same location.

We have a number of ways to keep our students safe at this time including our southern driveway entrance (by the zebra crossing) marked as closed to vehicle traffic between 8.30 am to 9.00am and 3.00pm to 3.30pm on school days, a wide pedestrian frontage to the school, clearly marked bus stopping areas, a range of roads with areas for parking while dropping off and a clearly marked zebra crossing manned by staff at peak times.

We ask you to not drive into the school grounds at peak times.

Please note that the Southern Driveway will now have a removable bollard installed to more clearly indicate to vehicle traffic its closure.

These times are 8.30am-9.00am and 3.00pm to 3.30pm on school days.

We reiterate that if you are dropping off your child to school to always be mindful of your speed and surrounds.

Thank you for helping ensure the safety of our students.
