Free dental service on site
Teen Dental Mobile are on site again this term providing a free adolescent dental service for Nayland College students from Year 9 until their 18th birthday. Enrolment form attached.
Teen Dental Mobile is an exciting and accessible way of offering dental treatment to adolescents at Nayland College under the Ministry of Health's Free Dental Scheme.
ABOUT US
Your clinician will be Paula Kinzett, who brings with her 21 years of dental therapy experience. Paula's work as a dental therapist has seen her work in community and hospital based setting in Nelson, Wellington and Auckland. While based in Auckland, she worked exclusively with adolescents and saw first-hand the benefits of offering dental treatment to adolescents on their school site.
SERVICE DELIVERY
Teen Dental Mobile will work by enroling your adolescent first (if not previously enrolled). Please download the attached enrolment form, then either email the completed form to admin@teendentalmobile.com, return to the school office or post to PO Box 3219 Richmond, Nelson.
Teen Dental will provide a free continuity of care for your adolescents college years until the age of 18.
If your adolescent is already enroled with a dental provider but you wish to take up this service model all you need to do is fill out the enrolment form on the enrol tab.
Please note your adolescent is only entitled to one free dental examination a year.
BELOW IS WHAT TO EXPECT FROM OUR SERVICE
Teen Dental Mobile will be situated on the school grounds. No booked appointment required as we will access your adolescent straight from class.
INITIAL APPOINTMENT - EXAMINATION
This will be done carried out once a year (annually) and will include:
- FULL ORAL EXAMINATION
- X-RAYS
- SCALE AND CLEAN
- FLUORIDE APPLICATION - if required
Your adolescent will be issued with a dental examination report at the end of the appointment advising of what further treatment is required or if no treatment is required. You will also be emailed the report in case it does not make it home.
All follow up treatment within the scope of the Dental Therapist will be completed on the Teen Dental Mobile at the College site. If there is anything Paula would like to discuss she will contact you directly.
TREATMENT APPOINTMENT
Your adolescent may require more than one visit depending on the treatment required, all related appointments will be free. There is no requirement to book an appointment as we will call your adolescent from class working around their scheduled class activities.
