Girls rugby takes on the coast

girls rugby manager Jo Cotton —

Next week will see the Nayland College girls rugby team challenge Buller in our own annual inter-region school girls rugby challenge.

The game will be played at Nayland College at 1.30pm on Wednesday 8th August.

The Nayland girls have been playing in the local secondary girls rugby competition. Though the team is a relatively new team, with many only taking up rugby for the first time this year, they have represented the school with pride and are always ready to take to the field and work as a team unit.

Nayland girls played their first game against Buller last year.  On the coast they do not have a competition for the team to play in and, perhaps because of that, they were ready for a good game.   We gave them exactly that.

This year we are champing at the bit and ready to challenge our fellow region in what will be a great game of rugby.

The call goes out to all the ex-rugby players and supporters in the region:  Come down to Nayland and watch what promises to be an exciting match of rugby next Wednesday.
