Tea and tech
Ten students from Nayland College visited The Woods retirement village for our first after school 'Tea and Tech' session on April 1st.
The students volunteered their time to work one to one with residents and help them with how to use their device. Students answered a diverse range of questions and assisted the residents with tablets, laptops and smart phones.
This activity is facilitated by staff from Age Concern, ANZ bank and Nayland College. The social interactions between the students and residents were the added bonus, alongside a lovely afternoon tea.
Students found out a myriad of interesting things about the lives of the residents, ranging from their travels to the work they had done before retiring. Everyone is keen to head back next Monday and then once a month for the rest of the year.
Mr. Pattillo and I would like to congratulate the students involved. You are amazing ambassadors for Nayland College. Many thanks!
