This year’s most deserving recipient is CAMERON MAYES

Cameron is an intelligent young man who has an outstanding attitude towards learning and achieving.

He has studied a year ahead of his peer group in Science. To date, Cameron has achieved NCEA Level 1 and Level 2 with Excellence. He has subject endorsement of Excellence in Level 2 History and Merit in Level 2 English, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry. He was awarded the Principals Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in Year 10, 11 and 12. This year Cameron has been studying NCEA Level 3 in Biology, Calculus, Chemistry, Digital Technology and History and has achieved all internal assessment at excellence level.

We congratulate Cameron on successfully balancing his academic study with a range of extra-curricular activities. Cameron has been an outstanding House Captain of Pegasus, supporting and encouraging fellow students. Two initiatives instigated by Cameron this year have been a Robotics Club for fellow students and the development of a visual app to allow random student selection for SOAR prizes.

Cameron is an outstanding young man who has an inner strength and maturity. He is caring, humble and respectful.

Congratulations Cameron on your achievements and thank you for the contribution you have made to Nayland College. We wish you well as you take up study towards a Bachelor Science at University of Canterbury next year.
