With four competitions to recap, the math department have had a busy term two and three of number crunching.
Nelsomathix 2024
On Thursday 26 September, Nayland College had four teams representing at Motueka High School who all had a really successful night. Both the top listed Year 9 team and the top listed Year 10 team placed 2nd. The second Year 9 team placed 4th and the second Year 10 team placed 10th. We had the loudest and most supportive spectators as well!

Junior Otago Maths Competition

Distinction – (Top 15% Nationwide) Malachi Ayre, Cosimo Goodwin, Ivan Shabashev
Merit – (Top 50 % Nationwide) Jacob Jee, Daisy Stossel, Liv Chapman, Keshia Linyard
Malachi, Cosimo, Ivan and Keshia qualified for the second part of the competition due to their success on the first part.
