Year 12 students Kahu Sanson-Burnett and Maisie Lucas from the band 'Parallel Park' are stoked to be opening for kiwi power-pop sensations 'The Beths' at their Nelson show on 24 September at Theatre Royal.

'Parallel Park' is a Nelson high school pop/rock band, comprising Maisie (Drums), Kahu (Guitar/Keys), Floss (Vocals), Ethan (Guitar), and Zac (Bass). 

The band have been together for five years despite the challenge of being split across three high schools - Nayland College, Nelson College and Nelson College for Girls. All members contribute to the songwriting and their music incorporates rock, pop, and reggae influences. 

Kahu, a big fan of 'The Beths,' reached out to their management when the tour was announced, offering to open their Nelson show and sharing a four song video of 'Parallel Park's' music. He was blown away when a few weeks later, they were offered the opportunity to play a 30-minute opening set.
