Science students keeping on eye on speeding traffic
Year 10 science students hit the streets with police Sergeant Currie to investigate the accuracy of the speed gun used when recording drivers speed in the Stoke area.
By recording distance and time the students were able to calculate the speed of the driving cars and compare the calculated speed with the readings from Sergeant Currie's speed gun.
The students were surprised about how busy Nayland Road was with cars and that fact they saw no cyclists biking past during the hour that they observed the traffic.
Fortunately, no speeding was recorded!
