Walking the tightrope - the balancing act between protecting and promoting

What can we do to support our children and young people as they navigate challenges and complexities online?

Time: 5.30pm Monday 19 November 2018 

Venue: Nayland College Hall.

This presentation is designed for those parenting or caring for teens, primary aged children and pre-schoolers.  

Whānau, parents and carers don’t have to know everything about the online environment, but they do play a pivotal role in what their children need in developing competencies and confidence to keep themselves safe.

This presentation will be facilitated by Anjie Webster, Education Advisor for Netsafe. Anjie has been in education for over 25 years, and more recently completed her M.Ed in all things around the online space and what’s needed to support young people.

Netsafe is an independent, non-profit New Zealand organisation focused on online safety. Netsafe provides specialist support for schools, educators and school communities around digital citizenship, responding to online incidents and other online safety issues.
