Protect against measles

Whanake Youth —

Whanake Youth are working in partnership with NMDHB and providing a fantastic youth led and youth focused event on Monday 15 February 3.30-5.30pm at 548 Main Rd Stoke (behind Stoke Memorial Hall) for anyone aged 15-30 years to come along and get immunised.

Kia Ora koutou,

Whanake Youth is working in partnership with Nelson Marlborough Public Health to encourage young people and young adults age 15-30 years to ensure they are up to date with their MMR vaccination. Measles is 8 times more infectious than Covid-19 and we are wanting to ensure we have a healthy community! I’m hoping that you and your school community can support this campaign and would be able to post information on your school website and publish in the school newsletter.

We are providing a fantastic youth lead and youth focused event on Monday 15 February from 3.30-5.30pm at HQ (548 Main Rd Stoke-behind Stoke Memorial Hall), for anyone age 15-30 years to come along and be immunised. We will have a BBQ, music and other entertainment during the event. But wait there’s more…..a $10 subway voucher will be given to students and young adults who get the immunisation completed on the day!

Some FAQ you or the students may have:

  1. “I can’t remember if I’ve already had it”-that’s ok, you can still get vaccinated, there is no harm if you have extra
  2. “How many do I need”-you need 2 a month apart
  3. “Do I need consent”-if you are under the age of 16 years, you need a parent or guardian to consent-they can fill out the form on the day
  4. “How do I get to HQ”-the bus will take you from town or Richmond and stop right outside HQ-548 Main Rd Stoke. If needed we can arrange for a van to pick you up.
