On Saturday 24 February, Nayland College participated in the annual regional Kahurangi-Marlborough debating competition. The event was organised by NZ Schools Debating and held at Nayland College.

In Year 9 Textiles we have been making our very own Waka Buffs to represent our Waka.

The Linyard sisters (Keshia Y11, Nia Y9) knocked it out of the park with some outstanding results!

122 Year 13 students attended the Leadership Camp this week, held annually at Bridge Valley Adventure Centre.

Last Sunday morning, three Nayland College students (Mia Harnetty, Isla Murray, and Amba Wheatley) had the opportunity to train as Marine Mammal Medics for Project Jonah, thanks to Network Tasman sponsorships.

When we interviewed Ruby in Year 9, her goal was to go to the Olympics, and she's done it!

Congratulations to Year 11 student Lucas Sinclair and the U16 Nelson Heat Baseball Club who recently won gold at the national tournament in Auckland!

Throughout the year we will be getting to know a little bit more about some of our 'New to Nayland' teachers. Today we meet Brooke Lawry who finished her studies at Otago University last year, and made the big move north Nelson, bringing her love of zoology and dance with her.

We are looking for passionate and experienced tutor(s) to lead and inspire our Kapa Haka rōpu Pūaha Te Tai. Applications close Monday 11 March.

Stoke-Nayland Girls Rugby will be having their first pre-season team practice on Monday 4 March, 3:30-5:00pm at Stoke Rugby Club. We invite anyone Y9-13 students who are interested to join in. Afternoon tea is always provided.
