Talented Theatresports-stars take home the trophy

Last month a group of Nayland College students competed against six other teams and in the midst of civil defense sirens going off, they won the competition! Well done Ollie Gabites, Silas Bailey, Tara McLarin, Noah Leighton and Emmogen Brown! Thora Moffatt was unfortunately sick on the night but is a very valued member of the team!

Last month five Nayland College students competed in the Nelson Regional Tournament held at St Joseph's School. The team came second, qualifying to take part in the nationals which were to take place next month. Well done to Sam Clark, Idris Remnant, Ronin Day, Max Lang and Charlie Hamley!

This week was Te Wiki O Te Reo Māori and across the week students took part in a variety of activities using Te Reo Māori. Our classes paused at 12pm on Tuesday 14 September to participate Māori Language Moment. Pūaha Te Tai Whānau gathered in the hall to acknowledge the moment. Kia kaha Te Reo Māori!

Brodie Seelen

Brodie Seelen - student leader and inspiration

Before lockdown, student journalist Ysabella Abel interviewed student leader Brodie Seelen about his role as a leader within the school and his future hopes and plans. During lockdown we heard the fantastic news that he has been named the Ironman NZ 2022 recipient of the Tony Jackson Scholarship. Congratulations Brodie!
