Talented debaters Finn Kerby-Pinguet (centre right) and Stella Bloomfield (bottom left) recently joined students from other schools to represent NZ at the prestigious online Western World Schools Debating Championships held on 4th - 5th February.

A massive congratulations to Year 12 student Ivy Toa who was part of the Nelson Bays U16 Mixed Touch team winning the national final to become the 2024 National Junior Mixed Champions!

The leads and principal chorus for the 2024 production Addams Family met for the start of show table read which kicked off the rehearsal process.

A massive congratulations to Ayva Wikaira-Duncan and Micayla Whiti who have made the 2024 Te Waipounamu Māori Netball U17 and U19 teams respectively. Both Ayva and Micayla are the only representatives from Whakatū in their respective teams which is an outstanding achievement! We wish you both all the best as you prepare for the tournament in Rotorua over Easter!

Mitchell Chandler is a 2014 Nayland College graduate and Palmer Award winner. He recently presented at COP28 in Dubai, sharing findings from his ocean research.
