Dear parents and caregivers,

Teachers in the science department have been using technology in different ways in their classes. Here are a couple of examples of what technology in science has looked like recently here at Nayland.

Nayland Whānau Class, Te Whānau o Neirana, participated regional kapa haka event, Taku Kara Tipuna, at Marlborough Girls College on Friday 2nd of August.

This week it's time to have a chat with English and media studies teacher Duncan McKinlay.

Half-Kiwi, half-Spanish, and whole-heartedly passionate, new Spanish teacher Cristina Armstrong is set to teach here at Nayland for at least the next two terms.

Since leaving Nayland College in 1986, alumnus Doctor Judith Bateup has garnered an impressive list of achievements, the most recent of which is her election as a Companion of the Royal Society of New Zealand.

Science teacher Maria van den Berg brings much experience and knowledge to her role, as she joins the staff at Nayland College this term.

We are running 3 Pilates & 1 Couch to 5K Couses in addition to 2 Legends Classes for active older people.

The Nelson City Council have advised that the completion of the major roadworks along a 150m stretch of Nayland Road near the Galway Street area (map below), have been delayed until Mid-November.

It was fantastic to hear about our Nayland College alumni who recently graduated from Victoria University of Wellington between June 2018 and May 2019. We are extremely proud of their achievements and wish them all every success for the future.

Sadly our current Team Leader is moving onto her own venture therefore we have some big shoes to fill!!
