Nelson Central School

Important school updates:

Pip has been awarded a sabbatical in Term 4 this year. She will be researching the impact of Learning Support Co-ordinators throughout the country and looking at most effective practice. John will be stepping into the role of Acting Principal for Term 4.

Please remember that Friday 24 November is a staff only day. This is given by the ministry to support our roll out of the curriculum refreshment.

Our start dates have been set for 2024. We will hold our Whānau Connect Hui on February 1st and 2nd. February 5th will be a staff only day, Waitangi Day on the 6th, with all students starting back on Wednesday 7 February.

Tickets are now available for Te Mana Kuratahi 2023, the national primary school's kapahaka competition, being hosted here in Whakatū in November. Don't miss out- they will sell fast. Follow this link: te-mana-kuratahi-2023

Punctuality

It is really important that all children are in class and ready to learn for the 9am bell. We recommend being here by 8:45. This gives a chance for them to settle, connect and have the best start to the day. It also has a huge impact on their teachers and our admin staff. If your child is sick remember to text or call before 9am. Thank you.
