Te Pouahi Mahi Kohara

This term Te Pouahi mokopuna have been creating mahi kohara that show their whakapapa. This week they presented to their peers and whānau.

Harlan- I made a waka from gingerbread. There is cake holding it all together. My waka is tainui and my awa is Waikawa. I made that from icing. My whānau are all in the waka with wooden spoons as the hoi.

Nova- I made a poster/diorama which shows my whakapapa. The middle has my family tree. In the sides are flags and at the bottom are scrolls which give information about the different countries I am from.

Freya- My Diorama has flags on the sides with people from my whakapapa on each side. There are stories about my whakapapa from my Dad's side and my Mum's side.

Solomon- I made my family tree from lego. I am at the top with my brother and sister, then my mum and dad are the next level down. As you go down the tree you see my grandparents and great grandparents. It took about a week and a half to make.

Athol- I made a poster with paua shells as my moana, some cardboard as my waka. Ngati kahu ngungu is lounging in his waka. I got paint for my maunga- Whakapunaki, and my awa- Wairoa. I did a sunset with the sun going down with red sky. There are cutty grass bushes on the beach and old grass for the sand.
