Staff vs Students Cricket Game
Despite the rain we were determined to celebrate Dustin's last day with a staff vs students cricket game.
The staff were a little short of players, so some children got to play as adults. The rules were simple, each pair bats for 2 overs, and if you get out you stay in but lose 5 runs.
Staff won the toss and chose to bat first. They amassed the impressive total of 41 in the 8 overs, despite some sharp bowling and on-point fielding by the kids.
The second innings were off to a slow start, with a couple of outs meaning the chase would always be tough. But an impressive pairing in the middle of the innings meant it would be tight.
In the end the children needed 5 runs off the last ball. They made 3, but couldn't bring home the win.
Dustin reckons that a rematch in Term 4 will have the teachers on the back foot. Bring it on, we say!
