Cultural Diversity Day Brings Us Together
Year 10 and 11 Students Wowed The Crowds Over At NCG
On the last day of Term 1, Nelson College for Girls celebrated Cultural Diversity Day, by having a range of cultural dances. (Hapa haka, Bollywood, Thai, Samoan, South Asian, Nepali, Colombian, Burmese, Pasifika and Chin). A group of year 10 and 11 Nelson College Chin boys went to lend their support. They wore the traditional clothing of the Chin ethnicity. The dance is called modern Chin culture dance, in the dance it represents planting rice and other Chin traditional activities. Dancing is a common activity for Chin people to do at night time with family and friends community.
The crowd loved it and the hall rang with appreciative shouts!
