Course: Design and Visual Communication (NCEA L3 - DVC)
A design brief approach is used and students are encouraged to focus on topics which they are interested in.

The course allows students the scope and the freedom to explore individual solutions to design problems. The course is designed round a modular structure so that students are able to work to their strengths.
Specific Aims:
to become independent learners with enquiring minds, and develop research and solve design problems.
develop the communication skills to enable students to fully explain and describe their reasoning and solutions to design problems when presenting them to others.
Requirements
Completed NCEA L2 Design and Visual Communications
Access to a Drawing Board and Graphics equipment.
Regular computer access with broadband for students (preferably have a Gmail account).
Access to photocopier and scanner.
Assessment
The Design & Visual Communication course at this level will be based on a selection of three of the four NCEA Level 3 Achievement Standards.
