Course: The Mouse that Roared: The sinking of the Rainbow Warrior (NCEA L1 - History)

The course covers a very important period in New Zealand history. A time when we stood up to the major powers and earned the respect of the world by being 'the mouse that roared'.

Students look at the Nuclear Free movement in the 1960's,70's and 80's, and focus on the sinking of the Rainbow Warrior in 1985.

Requirements

Resources will be provided. Students need to have a willingness to engage and take part in the online class community.

Assessment

Students will use this module to prepare them for the External Examination A.S. 91006 which involves writing about a significant New Zealand historical event.

About the Teacher

Garry Brittenden has been back teaching for 11 years after running a tourism venture for 18 years. He loves reading, writing, cooking, fishing, diving, travelling and cricket.
