Participants explore a play and communicate features of theatre form

Requirements

Students will need to be able to record their daily work and upload it to me and will need a partner or group of 3 to work in, for devising. I will also need you to be able to attend live theatre shows and to attend a workshop in Tapanui over the year.

Assessment

Level 1: AS9100 v4 Demonstrate understanding of a significant play. - 4 credits (Term 2)

This standard often uses a play that links to Term 1’s work. It is assessed as an A2 poster showing knowledge about the play chosen. and then is orally presented and filmed and digitally sent to the teacher. The poster is also sent for assessment to the NetNZ Drama teacher.

Level 2: AS91217 v2 Examine the work of a Playwright. - 4 credits (Term 2)

This standard involves the student making a script for presentation orally as if the practitioner explaining and giving information about themselves and or comparing 2 of their plays. The presentation is filmed for assessment and sent digitally to the NetNZ Drama teacher alongside an email copy of their script.

Level 3: AS91516 v2 Demonstrate understanding of the work of a Drama or Theatre Theorist or Practitioner. (Term 2)

4 credits

This standard is an oral presentation, presented as a seminar about the practitioner. It involves studying one of their plays and using excerpts that are acted out as part of the presentation to highlight the features of that Theatre form. It is filmed and digitally sent to the NetNZ Drama Teacher..
