Philippa Mallinson —

This course will prepare students for art history external examinations.

When:

Semester Two

Subject Area(s)

Art History

NCEA L3

This course is designed to consolidate knowledge from the preceding  courses, and build on this in preparation for the external exams in art history.

Requirements

To enroll in this course it is essential that students have completed all of the  modules preceding it, as the external exams in art history are very content heavy. Collaborative knowledge building and technology will be used to support and enhance learning in this course. As a community of Art Historians you will build and curate your knowledge of Art History together. You will examine big questions in Art History relating to: how style is created in art, how meanings are created in art, and how context affects art.

Assessment

Assessment programmes for external assessment will be individualised to suit student needs, whether that be to gain subject endorsement and enter for the scholarship exam. Student will select which exams they will prepare for from Style (AS 91482), Meanings (AS 91483), and Contexts (AS 91484)
