Course: Waves (NCEA L2 - Physics)

Kelvin Robertson —

The course begins with looking at the application of mirrors and lenses as a means to understanding the properties of Light

When:

Term Three

Subject Area(s)

Physics

NCEA L2

Students who have done the core Physics mechanics paper can focus on either (or both of) Waves & Light OR Electricity & Magnetism, depending on their interest. (BOTH are advised for students continuing in Physics - even if you only sit the assessment in one).

Core understandings and Laws are developed before exploring wider properties of waves (Reflection, Refraction, Interference & Diffraction).

Requirements

It is possible to do this module with only L1 Science (Physics) background but L2 Mechanics will enable more confidence.

SciPad Physics for Level 2

Assessment

(External) November Examination, with formal practice Exams given at end of topic & prior to the NZQA Assessment.
