Course: Waves & Mechanics (NCEA L3 - Physics)
Using the context of Astro-Physics this module will cover various aspects of Waves and Mechanics.
When:
Semester One
Subject Area(s)
Physics
NCEA L3
This course seeks to use various techniques to look at Spacecraft motion, Orbits, artificial gravity, Doppler shift, standing-waves and diffraction.
Students who do well in this course should be able to analyse complex situations and solve involved numerical problems.
Requirements
Students need to have completed the NCEA Level 2 equivalents of these Standards.
Preferably with Merit grades.
Assessment
AS91523 Demonstrate understanding of wave systems [4 credits] • AS91524 Demonstrate understanding of mechanical systems [6 credits] Both the standards covered by the module will have full topic tests during the semester and then External Exams in November.
