Course: Theatre Form (NCEA L1-3 - Drama)
We explore Drama styles such as Elizabethan Theatre, via Shakespearean Monologues. (Sometimes we look at other Theatre forms like Melodrama and others)
This is essential as a beginning to Drama studies on line as you learn a lot of basic acting skills
necessary for success in this subject. Students must come to Teachers school for assessment for this.

Requirements
Students will need to be able to record their daily work and upload it to me and will need a partner or group of 3 to work in, for devising. I will also need you to be able to attend live theatre shows and to attend a workshop in Tapanui.

Level 1: AS90006 v7 Applying Techniques in A Dramatic Setting- 4 credits (Term 1)
Level 1: AS90999 v5 Use features of a Drama/ Theatre form in a performance – 4 credits (Term 1)
Level 3: AS 91512 v3 Interpret scripted text to integrate drama techniques in performance – 4 credits.
Level3: AS91515 v2 Select and use complex performance skills associated with a Drama form or period – 4 credits
Level 2: AS91213 v2 Apply drama Techniques in a scripted context. – 4 credits
Level 2: AS91216 v4 Use complex performance skills associated with a drama or theatre form or period. - 4 credits.
We team both standards together and work on Drama styles such as Elizabethan Theatre, via Shakespearean Monologues. (Sometimes we look at other Theatre forms like Melodrama and others) This is essential as a beginning to Drama studies on line as you learn a lot of basic acting skills necessary for success in this subject. Students must come to Net NZ Teachers school for assessment for this module at all 3 levels for a 1-day workshop and filming. This can be as a monologue or as a duo-logue with 2 people in one school.
