Meet with the MoE Curriculum Team - Register for 21 May Hui
Special Bulletin to Regional Association Presidents
Kia ora koutou,
The first meeting NZPF secured with the Ministry of Education Curriculum Team is happening on Thursday 21 May at 3.30pm.
Please register for the online hui here
Rose Carpenter (Te Poutāhū Curriculum Centre, Engagement) will be leading the one-hour meeting, providing updates on the mechanisms used to test and refine the draft curriculum, and briefing you on the potential refinements the MoE is making based on that feedback.
Online hui will also be held in terms 3 and 4 so you can continue to share your views, insights, and concerns and get straight answers from the Ministry as the New Zealand Curriculum and Te Marautanga o Aotearoa are developed this year. If there are any topics that you want to explore or discuss in these sessions, I encourage you too can email them directly to: TePoutahu.Engagement@education.govt.nz. Suggestions for the upcoming hui are due by midday this Friday, 8 May.
Collaboration continues to be key
NZPF is pleased to be able to provide regional principals’ association presidents the opportunity to engage with their curriculum team directly. It gives us assurance that the Ministry’s curriculum team is committed to supporting principals to effectively implement the upcoming curriculum changes.
NZPF will keep working closely with them and advocating for the rights and interests of New Zealand principals. We will influence the Ministry to ensure their guidance is clear, their expectations are realistic, and that there are real opportunities for working principals and school leaders to engage in the reform process.
Ngā mihi nui,
Jason Miles
NZPF National President
Ngā Tumuaki o Aotearoa
