Golden Moments in Learning Support Centre
Since learning in the LSC is not always about working in books, here are some fuzzy feeling moments:
Picture 1: Being a helpful friend is such a great skill. Sometimes we need support from our peers to take part in a specific lesson. In this picture, Sasha is supporting Thomas (look at his happy face) in doing a warm-up activity in PE. Happy students makes the sun shine brighter!
Picture 2 & 3: Harry Proops is proudly showing off his Soft Tech Project. It took a few sessions to choose the specific pieces of his favourite fabric to fill his shape, and it required full on concentration when assisting in sewing the pieces onto the cloth ( all while having to follow instructions from Ms Nel on when to push down on the foot pedal to sew)
Picture 4: When friendship and support in a class blossoms! Jaslyn is reading a story to Josh during a morning English session. They both enjoyed each other's company. Apparently it is more fun when your friend reads a story, than when the teacher reads it to you
Picture 5: A lot of engagement and interest in a Science lesson from Mr Hall. The focus was mixing liquids to make "snow globes". The students showed great interest assisting in the steps. Petra showed full focus when pouring the glycerol and water into the container. Erik was fascinated with the moving parts inside the container and was engaged for a long period.
