Support students. Make a difference

Newlands College is looking for reliable, compassionate, and detail-oriented reader-writers to assist students with assessments and exams throughout the school year. This is a casual role, ideal for those who are flexible and available during peak assessment periods (a few busy weeks each year).

What’s involved?

You’ll be supporting students with specific learning needs by either reading the questions aloud, writing down their responses, or both—ensuring they have a fair opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills.

We're looking for people who:

• Have confident spoken and written English

• Are patient, empathetic, and professional

• Can follow instructions carefully and maintain confidentiality

• Are available during school hours (especially during assessment weeks)

Experience in education is a bonus, but not required. Training will be provided.

Location: Newlands College, Wellington
Casual work as needed throughout the school year
