School Cross Country Day

Nakshatra Duggirala and Hara Pednekar —

A sense of achievement and pride felt by all.

On Friday the 8th of April, Newlands Intermediate School had our annual school cross country event. Each year and gender separate into groups to run the course. It's your choice whether you want to run, walk, or jog. Scores get collected into syndicate boxes, the better your placing, the more points you earn for your syndicate.

The cross country track is the same each year. We start by doing a lap of the college field, run up the pine trees, go around the netball courts, and then run back down towards the College field. Running a further lap of the college field signals the end of the gruelling course. The circuit is  3 km long. I found the cross country fun but very challenging. Although it was hard, I didn’t give up.
