Pasifika Fiafia Night at Newlands College
On Wednesday 14th September our NIS Poly club went down to Newlands college to perform for their Fiafia night.
This Fiafia night was to celebrate the Pasifika students who attend the college and their Poly group who performed at their college Polyfest. Our NIS Poly club were invited to perform and we were up first. The boys and girls performed two Items each. The boys performed a Fijian Item called a ‘Meke’ and a song called ‘Noqu Masu’. The girls performed a Cook island dance to a song called ‘Metepara’. We also performed a Samoan dance called ‘Afio ane loa’.
Our performance on this night was good practice in front of an audience, as we are working towards our Polyfest next term. We are excited for this in Week 2 in Masterton.
