Tony Birch, our LSC (learning support coordinator), retires from education after years of contribution to his chosen profession.

We loved him for his wisdom, his ability to play the guitar and his encouragement of our rangatahi so that all those that spent time with him came away with a sense of peace and hope.

Our kura presented Matua Tony with a tokotoko to support him when he is asked to sit on the paepae and give a whaikōrero during a pōwhiri.

Tony's office was a safe haven. Staff and students appreciated the way he showed manaakitanga. A gentle and kind leader, Matua Tony will be sorely missed.

We wish him, Whaea Linda and his whānau all the very best in retirement.
