Lost Polar Fleeces

Piper Thompson & Matilda Williams —

In Room 7 we have been collecting and charting data from the polar fleeces in the lost property bins.

Our graphs show how many were named vs unnamed, and the different sizes. We found over 40 polar fleeces of which only 2 were returned to their owners today. We worked out that the combined cost of the polar fleeces was approximately $2600. We did our best in trying to return named polar fleeces but many were hard to read or names had not been updated. We want to make sure our students have a polar fleece to wear and are warm as the winter months approach. If your child has lost a polar fleece in the last few weeks, it has probably ended up in the lost property. Please make sure to name all uniform items clearly to minimise the loss of these pricey items.

Below are some ideas we brainstormed regarding what to do with unclaimed polar fleeces.

  1. Using polar fleece material for textiles classes

  2. Donate to Mary Potter and Hospice/charity shops

  3. Make blankets for the sick bay

  4. Create beanies/mittens/slippers and more…

  5. Art collage pieces

  6. Pre-name fleeces when purchased

  7. Give students a number each for the polar fleeces

  8. QR code uniform stickers
