Poly fest / Kapa Haka Te Papa Trip
On Friday 28th October the Newlands Intermediate Poly Group went to Masterton to perform at the Masterton Polyfest. The group worked really hard and took a lot of time working on our bracket. Our performance was second and we were all really nervous to perform in front of a crowd. Our bracket included a Cook Island dance, followed by the boys performing their Fijian hymn and Fijian dance, then finishing it off with the Samoan dance.
There was a lot of nice food provided there for us to eat after we performed. Our favourite part of the experience was watching all the other schools perform their items. We appreciate all the support we have received from parents, teachers, and students from the other intermediates. From this amazing experience, we would definitely like to do poly club next year and encourage the year 6s to join in 2023 as well. We would like to thank Miss Pemerika and Whaea Lena for putting their time and effort into teaching us.
