Copyright & Creative Commons 101 We had a good turn out for the two online workshops with Mandy Henk from Tohatoha Aotearoa Commons. You can view the recorded webinars and access Mandy's presentation and resources from our news channel.

Connection, Community and Us discuss 'What are the key elements required for a student to be successful in online learning? Can any student be successful in online learning?' Michael Barbour shares some interesting insights from the Canadian experience where it is graduation requirement that all students have some online learning credits.

Learning Languages community discuss Minecraft te reo Māori, recently released by Microsoft NZ, as an example of an immersive environment and share their own experiences of using Minecraft with their learners.

Marina and Philip have been setting up the Mentors community and are developing guidelines and a platform to enable us to teachers to buddy up with a mentor or as a mentor for others. Join in and contribute your expertise.

Wrangling Technologies community has been sharing Pear Deck, to make Google Slides create more interactive features in the online classroom, Google classroom tests and the future possibilities of augmented reality in the Zoom classroom.

New groups recently started are: 

Research & Inquiry:'This community enables sharing and discussion around research and inquiry. If you are embarking on research or inquiry, or just want to bounce some research ideas around, this is the group for you!'

Exploring Competencies: 'What would a set of national competencies for learning and teaching online look like? This is an ongoing project with the objective of developing these.'

Lots of buzz around Hui - our national hui is coming up soon in Rotorua, our recent Dunedin hui, and Southern region hui coming up in November 28 & 29th.
