Covid Recovery Wellness packs!

Noku Te Ao —

There possibly could have been a better name for these, but at least it is descriptive.

By now, most of you will have received a Wellness pack from Nōku te Ao with 4 items in it to help with the health of your tamaiti.

These were carefully sourced and obtained by our Whānau Navigator, Deirdre Panapa who is a Registered Herbalist and runs her own clinic, DP Herbals. The feedback I have been receiving so far has been overwhelmingly positive and these products are helping whānau and tamariki to stay well and recover from the winter illnesses and Covid-19.

These are not like medicines that you take when you are ill, they are to be taken now, following the instructions with them, to help build up immune systems and, in the case of the pro-biotics, to help replace the good flora in your gut which gets wiped out with the bad bacteria whenever anti-biotics are used. All of this helps to keep our pēpi healthy and to be able to cope with the various bugs that are circulating.

The tamariki packs were bought using pūtea from the Mokopuna Ora funding - and in order to promote and keep our funding we need to report back to Te Pūtahitanga about how it was spent and the impact on whānau. So, in September I will be sending out a link to all whānau and this is part of what it is about 🙂

The Mokopuna Ora survey also covers the foodbank food we get on Wednesdays and any reo Māori initiatives we carry out. So please fill in the survey and help us to keep helping you. 😘
